STAR STRUCK RECORDS MUSIC & COMMUNITY AWARDS 2026

OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. ORGANISER

The Star Struck Records Music & Community Awards (“the Awards”) are organised and presented by Star Struck Records (“the Organiser”).

2. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

2.1 By submitting a nomination, participating as a nominee, or voting, all participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2.2 These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between the Organiser, nominees, and voters.

3. NOMINATIONS

3.1 Nominations opened in March 2026.
3.2 All nominees completed the official nomination form and provided the required information.
3.3 By submitting the nomination form, nominees:

• Confirm that all information submitted is true and correct.
• Grant the Organiser permission to use their name, image, likeness, and submitted content.

4. USE OF IMAGE AND CONTENT (CONSENT)

4.1 Nominees grant the Organiser a royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use their:

• Name
• Images
• Audio/visual material
• Biographical information

4.2 This content may be used for:

• Website and voting platforms
• Social media platforms
• Marketing, advertising, and promotions
• Media publications (including newspapers, editorials, and press releases)

4.3 Content may be used:

• During the Awards period
• For up to 12 months after the event for promotional purposes
• Indefinitely for archival purposes, including listing past winners

4.4 This clause complies with consent requirements under the Protection of Personal Information Act.

5. VOTING MECHANISM

5.1 Voting takes place online at:
https://www.starstruckrecords.co.za/poll/

5.2 Voting rules:

• Voting is open to the public.
• Each vote costs R2 (Two Rand).
• Voters may vote an unlimited number of times.

5.3 All votes:

• Are non-refundable under any circumstances.
• Do not entitle nominees to any financial benefit or payment.

5.4 Votes are counted in real time, and totals are displayed publicly on the website.

6. ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE

6.1 Voting is restricted to individuals 18 years and older.
6.2 The Organiser reserves the right to allow exceptions at its sole discretion.

7. ELIGIBILITY TO WIN

7.1 To qualify as a category winner, a nominee must receive a minimum of 2,000 votes.
7.2 Nominees who do not meet this threshold may be disqualified from winning.

8. VOTING PERIOD

8.1 Voting opens after nominations are finalised.
8.2 Voting will close before 24 September 2026.
8.3 The Organiser reserves the right to:

• Extend or shorten the voting period
• Pause or reopen voting if necessary

9. EVENT DETAILS

9.1 The Awards ceremony will take place:

• At the Blue Downs Family Festival
• On 24 September 2026
• Between 19:00 and 23:00

10. WINNER DETERMINATION

10.1 Winners are determined primarily based on total votes received.
10.2 All results are final and binding.

10.3 In the event of a tie:

• The Organiser or appointed panel will decide the winner; or
• Voting may be reopened for a specified period (including on the day of the event)

10.4 Any tie-break voting must close before the winner is announced.

11. FINALITY OF DECISIONS

11.1 The Organiser’s decisions are final and binding.
11.2 No correspondence, disputes, or appeals will be entered into regarding:

• Voting outcomes
• Winner selection
• Disqualification decisions

12. DISQUALIFICATION

The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any nominee or voter who:

• Engages in fraudulent voting activity
• Manipulates the voting system
• Provides false information
• Acts in a manner that brings the Awards into disrepute

13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

13.1 The Organiser is not liable for:

• Technical failures of the website
• Loss of data or interruptions in voting
• Any indirect or consequential damages

13.2 Participation is at the participant’s own risk.

14. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

14.1 Personal information will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
14.2 Information collected will only be used for:

• Administering the Awards
• Communication
• Marketing (where consent is given)

15. COMPLIANCE WITH LAW

15.1 These Awards are conducted in accordance with:

• The Consumer Protection Act
• Applicable electronic communications and transactions laws

15.2 The paid voting mechanism is structured as a promotional competition/service, and all required disclosures are included.

16. GENERAL

16.1 The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time.
16.2 Updated Terms will be published on the official website.
16.3 Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
